2 down, 28 to go!

A very productive week list-wise with 2 tasks completed!!

Task fourteen - Give blood:
On Wednesday I went to give blood for the first time.  When I wrote the list, Mum said she would come along with me to do this task, as she has given blood in the past, and I was more than a little bit scared of it!!  We had our appointments booked for Wednesday lunch time at the Regional Blood Transfusion Service.  The staff couldn't have been nicer and really set my mind at ease, they knew I was really nervous and arranged for me and Mum to sit next to each other.  Mum finished donating first and I started to read my book whilst they disconnected her from the machines.  The next thing I know she was being crowded round by all the staff and her chair was pushed right back and she wasn't responding!!  At this point I burst into floods of tears, not knowing that she had simply fainted (a fairly common thing after giving blood apparently).  She was soon back to normal and after a short time sitting upside down and a couple of glasses of juice she was fine!  I managed to finish my donation (the optimum amount) and was rather happy at the chocolate biscuit table for the next while!!  Not entirely sure if I'll be back, but I faced my fear and survived!  I'm certainly not going back with Mum!!  A huge thanks to Lydia and Evelyn who looked after us throughout.

Task sixteen - Watch all of the Godfather movies:
Over the course of the week I've watched all of the Godfather movies.  The first one was probably my favourite, but they were all quite good.  I had never seen any of them before (well, I've hardly seen any movies at all!) hence putting that one on the list.  Might even be tempted to get the boxset at some point :o)

There probably won't be a huge amount of list progress over the next few months, but I'll keep you posted.  My Anthony Nolan registration should be coming in the next few weeks, and I might try and get the scuba diving lesson done as well.  Other than that I'll keep going with the reading and movies.  Not quite finished "On the Road" yet, but that will happen this week and then I can start the next book.  I will  finish watching "Gladiator" this week as well.  It's just not really my cup of tea - well from the first 30 minutes it's not anyway!! Maybe it gets better later on....fingers crossed!
